Come Drum With Me In Cape Breton This Summer

I’m so happy to announce I’ll be back teaching bodhrán at Colaisde na Gàidhlig / The Gaelic College in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada again this summer (2023).

This year I’ll be there for Adult Session 1  August 7th – 11th, 2023.

There are five classes a day and you can choose from a variety of instruments, dance and language.  It’s the perfect time to awaken your inner rhythm and learn and connect with like-minded people in a magical surrounding. Anyone who has ever been will tell you it’s an experience of a lifetime.

What if I don’t have a drum?

If you don’t already have a drum, and not sure what to buy, you can borrow one of my extra workshop drums and use it for the week. Just let me know so I can put one aside for you.

There will be students there with drums of different makes and sizes so it will be the perfect opportunity to try lots of different drums before buying one.

Please email me directly at mickeystewart@mickeystewart.com to reserve to borrow a drum.

What they don’t tell you, but should . . .

  • As a live-in student you not only have all your meals made for you, but someone else does the dishes too!
  • As a wife and mother I always appreciate when someone else does the cooking and cleaning. Escaping from everyday responsibilities allows you to truly immerse yourself in the music and culture.
  • You laugh . . . A LOT.
  • You will smile so much your face will need a holiday afterwards.
  • You kind of forget the rest of the world exists
  • Your heart feels like it will burst from musical bliss and from friendships new and old.
  • You feel like YOU again and will feel like you are HOME!

Hope to see you there!
